nelietuviskai skaitykite apie Stormso draugeli Neukirchneri ir taip kaip jis gerina trasos rekordus:

Team Suzuki Press Office - November 11, 2007.

Spaniard Fonsi Nieto and German Max Neukirchner both put the 2007 Alstare Corona Extra Suzuki GSX-R1000 though its paces during their test at Valencia in Spain with Neukirchner beating the lap record on regular race rubber.

Both riders made many changes to the positions of the bars, footpegs and levers so that they could start to get comfortable with the bike, before beginning to push hard.

The weather for the tests was generally good and both riders and the team were able to do a lot of good groundwork and gather useful information in more than 150 laps.

Nieto posted a best time of 1:35.5 and Neukirchner a 1:35.00 - which is faster than Max Biaggi's best race lap there earlier this season.

Fonsi Nieto:

"This test was all about me getting comfortable with the bike so we did a lot of work with the handlebars, levers and footpegs. My initial feeling is that the bike is very good and I have a lot to learn. I started with the Biaggi settings but I didn't get on with them so we've changed them quite a lot - more in the Kagayama direction I guess. The Alstare Suzuki feels more of a race bike than my bike of last year and it has a lot of potential. I am not thinking about lap times at this test, because I want to learn this bike first. The Alstare team is great to work with and everybody is very friendly. I am getting to know them all very quickly and already we have a very good relationship. The World Superbike Championship is not an easy race series by any means but I am really looking forward to this new challenge."

Max Neukirchner:

"I know I've ridden the Alstare Suzuki before but this is a different situation for me here. We spent most of the time getting the bike right for me. That meant changes to the riding position, bars, levers and footpegs. I enjoyed riding the bike in the last race of the year but now it's time to get the bike dialled-in for me properly. There is a lot to do, but we are all working well and making good progress, so we are all pretty happy at this stage. I know most the Alstare guys from before but I am working with some different mechanics this time, so I have to get used to them and they have to get used to me. I'm already enjoying myself with the team and I think we will leave Valencia in a positive frame of mind."

Yamaha Supercross stars enjoy a fantastic week

2007 MX2 world champion Antonio Cairoli has won the third round of the European Supercross Championship held at the Eicma motorcycle show in Milan, Italy. Meanwhile Yamaha US factory rider Chad Reed was crowned ‘King of Bercy’ at the world famous Paris-Bercy Supercross event in France for winning all but one of the races held from Friday to Sunday. Chad’s stalwart and 2007 AMA US Motocross champion Grant Langston raced to second overall making it a perfect weekend for Yamaha fans.

After a long break from Supercross competition Chad Reed won all the heat races expect for one on the first day of the event. Grant Langston was his main rival during the entire week-end and was rewarded runner up in the 25th anniversary of the most prestigious European Supercross event. Reed sees his Bercy victory as a positive prelude to his 2008 AMA Supercross campaign; “I couldn’t expect a better result for my comeback at Bercy and I’m very happy to win this race for the first time. During three nights I had real good battles with Grant Langston and Andrew Short which was a great preparation for next season. The crowd was amazing as always in Bercy, I had fab time here in Paris!”

Cairoli’s win in Milan gives him a comfortable lead in the European Supercross championship with 42 points, the result of winning the opening round in Bologna, Italy and a second place in Bilbao, Portugal. With two more rounds to go in Genova (24 November) and Munich (15 December) Cairoli’s outlook to retain his title look good as he enjoys a margin on second placed Degli Esposti of 15 points.

The win in Milan was a perfect ending to Antonio’s week as he had a once-in-a-lifetime experience riding Valentino Rossi’s YZR-M1 on the Tuesday after the final MotoGP race held at the Ricardo Tormo circuit at Valencia, Spain. Cairoli normally spends all his time on a motorcycle off road, but occasionally rides on road and track too. Earlier in the year he spent considerable time on a YZF-R6 at the Misano race track during the annual Italian Yamaha Fest, but still harnessing the M1’s 200+ horsepower was intimidating prospect for the moto and supercross star; “I was more then a little anxious, also because Valentino’s bike has opposite gear change to what I, and normal road riders are used to. What impressed me most was the fearsome acceleration, which frankly speaking is the only real sensation you can get when you have limited riding skills on a bike like this. I was allowed to do just five lap, but I enjoyed it so much I requested and got another five! In fact I consider putting another M1 test in my next Yamaha contract! No but seriously, my future is not in road racing, I enjoy motocross too much, especially physical aspects of it.”

Wisely Cairoli had no illusions and made no attempts to break the lap record, but rode safe and steady lapping the track in 1’51, some 20 seconds slower then the circuit fastest time.

News Chile 12/11/2007
Guerrero and Aubert lead Yamaha’s assault on the 82nd ISDE

Representing Spain and France respectively UFO Corse Yamaha team riders Cristobal Guerrero and Johnny Aubert will head Yamaha’s official participation in the 82nd running of the International Six Days Enduro, which takes place in La Serena, Chile from November 12 to 17. The UFO Corse Yamaha team's other riders; Fabrizio Dini, Maurizio Micheluz and Alex Salvini will all defend the Italian honors for the country trophee.

The base for the event will be the coastal town of La Serena, 500km north of the Chilean capital Santiago. Surrounded by picturesque sandy beaches to the west and rugged mountains to the east the hugely varied terrain neighbouring La Serena will ensure this year’s ISDE is both a challenging and spectacular event. Over 520 riders will compete this year as enduro competitors from all around the world take up the challenge of competing in the race known to many as the ‘Olympics of motorcycling’. 30 countries will be represented with 20 Trophy teams, 15 Junior Trophy teams, five Women’s Club teams, over 100 Club teams and 20 individual entrants making up the huge entry. Competing aboard a WR250F, Spaniard Cristobal Guerrero starts the event hoping to win the Enduro 1 category. Proving during his ’07 World Enduro Championship campaign that he has the speed to not only compete against, but also beat, the world’s best E1 class riders. Cristobal will start the event as Yamaha’s number one 250cc four-stroke powered rider following team-mate Simone Albergoni’s withdrawal from the competition. Set to lead the Italian Trophy team Albergoni recently injured his back and as a result has opted not to compete. Fortunately Simone has found a suitable replacer in Alex Salvini, who had to do a crash course in changing tyres and other mechanical skills needed to look after the WR250F during the times when no mechinical support is allowed by the team mechanics.

As the fastest Enduro 2 class rider in the WEC series on numerous occasions this season, Frenchman Johnny Aubert heads into the 82nd ISDE hoping to top the E2 class. Mounted aboard a WR450F Aubert, who eventually finished third in the E2 world championship classification, will go up against last year’s overall ISDE winner Juha Salminen as he aims to collect his first ever ISDE class win while helping France in their bid to top the Trophy team competition.

With an abundance of spectacular terrain surrounding La Serena the six-day event will essentially be split into four. Days one and two will see the event head south from the Serena Golf Club, which is where the event’s parc ferme will be housed, with the course hugging the Pacific coast and its sandy beaches. On days three and four riders will be sent inland as the course heads through the mountains and over terrain very different to that used during days one and two. On day five the event heads north along the beautiful Chilean coast line to the town of La Higuera before returning to La Serena. Day six will see the world’s best enduro riders compete in the traditional final day motocross races, which will bring the event to a spectacular close.

World Champions Colin Edwards and James Toseland join forces with Yamaha Tech 3 Team

It is with great pleasure that the Yamaha Tech 3 team wishes to announce the signing of two world champions to contest the 2008 MotoGP World Championship.

American rider Colin Edwards, will be joined by Brit, James Toseland with both riders bringing a wealth of riding experience to the Yamaha Tech 3 Team.

Texan Edwards, after four years in the elite class and winning two World Superbike Championships in 2000 and 2002, possesses an invaluable amount of development knowledge while Toseland is the recently crowned 2007 world superbike champion after first claiming his first world title in 2004.

In another exciting development for the vastly experienced French team both riders will compete on Michelin tyres as well as commencing the season on the latest version of the Yamaha M1.

The entire Tech 3 team is very happy to welcome these two great riders with their first outing at the next winter test this week at the Sepang circuit in Malaysia (15-16-17th November). The team will then head to Jerez in Spain from the 27th to 29th of November for the next stop of the hectic winter schedule before the December test ban comes into effect.

Colin Edwards quotes:
“I’m honestly really excited about coming to Tech 3. I think the overall package that Yamaha has put together for next year – four good bikes and four World Champions and four different crews giving Yamaha a whole lot of information means we will be on the pace from the start and it’s pretty exciting. I’ve known Herve well and I know that Tech 3 is a very good outfit and I’m also really looking forward to sharing a garage with James. I’m positive that it’s going to be a great team.”

James Toseland quotes:
“I am over the moon about coming to MotoGP. It seems to have been a long time coming to get this opportunity but it has come at the right time and is the opportunity of a lifetime. It is a massive transition in my life to make and I am really looking forward to it. I don’t know who was happier as my mum was in tears when we got the news! I am really thankful to Yamaha and I appreciate the chance they have given me and I want to thank everyone for the opportunity they have given me. I have met Herve on a couple of occasions and he is a genuine nice guy and I truly feel the Tech 3 Team will be a good place to start my MotoGP career so it’s nice to be welcomed into the team. It will also be good to be working with Colin again as we have had a 10 year separation. He has said some really nice things in the press as to how he will help me. We get on really well together so I think we should make a good team. I’ve been employed to do a serious job so I am not coming in with the mental attitude that there won’t be any pressure on me; there will be and I want to do the best job possible and be near the front.”
