Well, I guess if you're not sure if you've had one, you haven't. They're are completely uncontrollably violent and usually end up in brakes not working and/or very sore hands/wrists from some feeble attempt at stopping the bars shaking. It's luck if you're not shaken off it. I think crying shortly after one is entirely understandable, whether you're male or female

'03 ZX6R high up in 3rd gear, crossing rippled tarmac after an overtake and all hell broke loose. The bars ripped from my hands after smacking them into the tank. The longest 5 seconds of my life then followed and they ended with me breathing a sigh of relief as the violent shaking ended. I didn't try the brakes until the layby 1/2 a mile up the road when I then proceeded to sail pass it as the pistons had been pushed back in the calipers. I did nothing to help save an accident and the van driver on the other side of the road looked even more shocked than I was and couldn't believe I hadn't gone down. I didn't notice the sore thumbs and nut ache until that evening.

I overtook my mate in his car and gave it the berries in 2nd gear over a bumpy bit of road and it went into full on 'terrier shaking a rat' mode. Bad enough to bash the pads back into the calipers and require some manic brake pumping at the very tight corner that rushed me at 100mph.

Only ever had the one full on slapper and I remember it like it yesterday. It was 1992 and my mate had just picked a nice 350 lc. After much blagging begging and pleading he gave me the keys. Straight up the town to the chippy where all the kids on their 125's hung out. Pinned it 2nd and got the most almighty shake on. It actually snapped one of the lock stops off!!
